I met up with this adorable family at their home in New Hampshire a couple of weekends ago, for a shoot with 15 month old twins, and their almost-2-year-old cousin.

We had big plans for some outside shots of them running around, playing, and enjoying the late summer weather. Well, wouldn’t you know it, Mother Nature had other plans for us. Saturday arrived with 60 degree weather, torrential rains, and gusty winds. We decided to make the most of it, and just bring the shoot indoors instead! The family was ever so gracious to me, traipsing around their beautiful home, on the search for some pretty light and fun settings.

(S. was such a ham for the camera, I wanted to take him home with me!)

(Mr. M, on the other hand, was NOT impressed with me. I think I won him over by the end though.)

I think this one might be my favorite though. I can’t take the cuteness, I LOVE it!

K family, your gallery will be up shortly! Thanks for a wonderful session, you were all awesome. You ARE awesome.  We will definitely plan for a late afternoon golden sunlight shoot for some other time. :-)

I posted this sneak peek on my Facebook Business Page, but then realized mom doesn’t have Facebook. So I’m posting it here also! More to come very soon. :)

Inspired

September 15, 2009

I am hereby admitting to being a blog stalker.

I am obsessed with scouring the internets, looking at other photographer’s blogs. I get so inspired seeing what others are up to, and I feel challenged to better myself. I have SO much left to learn about photography, and am constantly floored by the incredible talent out there.

Which brings me to the reason for this post. I came across these incredible photographers in Connecticut, Justin & Mary Marantz. Their images blew. me. away. The clarity, interesting compositions, and their general FUN attitudes that come across in their posts, all just inspired me. To do better, to learn more, and to put myself out there more.

When they announced they were going on tour in 2010, I almost jumped out of my seat. I knew I HAD to see them. And then I saw they were having a contest for amazing prizes, and all I had to do was tell people about their Spread the Love Tour 2010! Well, alrighty then, I’m all over that.

So, Justin & Mary, I am Spreading the Love. As the old country song goes, please come to Boston, for the springtime. You won’t regret it! :)

Everyone else, you simply MUST head over to their blog, and vote for them to come to Boston on their Spread the Love Tour 2010.

Let’s see if I can entice them with these older shots I’ve taken of good old Boston.

I caught up with one of my college roommates last weekend in Amherst, for a fun playdate at the park. It’s always fun going “back to college”, we had some great times there! It’s so beautiful out there this time of year.

Four year old E has SO much energy, she bounced and ran all over the playground.

And little J just turned one earlier this month! He is growing up so fast, I can’t believe it’s already been a year.

I just HAD to include this last one, she is her mother’s daughter, 10000%! A, could she look any MORE like you??

It was really fun seeing you guys, thanks for hanging out with me!

I met up with these adorable girls last week, to go for a fun nature walk in the woods around here.

The little girl on the right is the cousin of the other two, visiting from California. They had so much fun running around the trails, climbing giant rocks, and exploring in these woods.

The mosquitoes were out in full force though, so we didn’t stay too long–gotta love late summer in New England!

I think this next shot is my favorite–I love how real it is. I almost didn’t edit this, and I’m so glad I did! It was really bright out this day, as you can tell from their expressions.

All of the black background shots were taken on their trampoline. We didn’t do jumping shots though, we will definitely have to next time!

Wow, where did the summer go?? It’s September already?? I can’t even believe it.

I’m sure you’re all wondering where I ran off to these past couple of weeks. It has been a whirlwind! Lots of traveling to see family, friends, and lots of shooting–my fave.

Here is a little glimpse at all of the fun I’ve been having!

This first little one may look familiar to those of you who are fans of MJP on Facebook.

Met up with these adorable boys in VA while visiting the in-laws. Their mom is a good friend of mine, and an amazing photographer. I took these with her sweet 105 macro, which I am now lusting after. (Jon, if you’re reading this, make note!)

September is looking to be another busy month here–and I can not wait, this is my favorite time of year! Late summer, early fall, all the way through the holidays–it doesn’t get any better than this.

In honor of my giddiness at this time of year, I will be offering a couple of specials coming up soon–so make sure you subscribe/fan/follow me, to get all of your up-to-the-minute news! I will also be announcing ongoing and holiday mini-sessions shortly.

Last piece of business, I am now booked for all weekends in September. I do have a couple of weekday slots still available though.

I’ll end this with my new favorite photo of Lila. Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
