I met up with A & D in November at their home in Millis, MA, for maternity photos of A. We caught some of the last flecks of golden sunshine that day, and I have to say, they both braved some chilly weather–though you'd never know it from the photos!

It turns out D and I both went to the same college, so we had fun reminiscing during the session. The nursery they created for the baby is just beautiful too, perfect for their new little one.

Below are just a few of my favorites from the afternoon–stay tuned for newborn photos coming soon! Thank you both for having me over, and for braving 40 degree weather and soggy grounds for photos! You're wonderful.

First up, my beautiful sister-in-law. She’s expecting her first little one at the end of this month, a baby girl! I have been stocking up on baby girl goodies for her newborn session, I can’t wait. We took some quick maternity photos back in the beginning of the fall, and I just had to share a few of my faves!

inton? We are so close to the town line, I never know!), and I’m in love. It was gorgeous there! (Side note: I don’t know what it is with me and sunset lately, but I can’t get enough of the hazy golden colors. Love!)
No family session is complete without high-fives and fist bumps, right?
The light was just incredible here. It disappears in mere minutes, so we had to work fast!
G family, I am SO excited to meet your newest member of the family–I’m still thinking girl, by the way . Love you guys!

? It was a beautiful morning, and I was thrilled we’d decided to meet here, as I’d never been on their campus before. It was completely picturesque and lovely, and I will definitely be looking to go back again.

M, I hope you are hanging in there, I can’t wait to meet the new addition to your family soon!

For these last images, we “borrowed” this backdrop from a lovely and gracious couple, who let us shoot in front of their amazing home. It was built in the 1700s, and they just finished renovating it–it’s all black, with a gorgeous black and stone garage next to it. I’m hoping they’ll let me shoot there again, we were only here for a few minutes because the sun was almost down at this point. You can see how the light was changing by how different the door looks in each shot.

I can’t WAIT to use this spot for more sessions. Thanks, Cait, for coming with me!! You look fabulous, I can’t wait to meet my new little niece or nephew in a couple of months.

Our session was during what us photographers like to refer to as “the magic hour”–as in, the hour or two just before sunset, when everything is covered in this honey colored evening light. I LOVE shooting during this time, and highly recommend it for all of my clients! The soft, diffused light at this time of day is something I like to take full advantage of–we have even less of it up here in New England, so I have to jump on it while I can!

The “P” family is expecting baby #3 at the end of September, doesn’t mom look just radiant? I WISH I was this glowing when I was pregnant with Lila.

These two were so patient with me, and SO cute.

We let them run around a bit, which they loved.

I love everyone’s expressions in this next one–I love capturing moments like this! The kids were cheering because we told them this was the last one, and they could go run around some more.

Then mom and I went off for a little bit to capture these stunning shots. The next couple may look familiar to the photo in the blog header–I just couldn’t wait to put that up there. Here are a couple more from the same location.

I’ll end with my favorite shot. I don’t usually make things this artsy, but I couldn’t stop myself on this one. It may now be my new favorite photo.
