I still won out in the end though, as you’ll see.

Thanks for having me over, C family, it was (and always is) so great to see you all. Emma is such a sweetheart, and a perfect addition to your family. A, thank you also for making me try my first pierogies! They were delicious.

I thought I'd share a few from their sessions, before they're both driving and heading off to college.

First up, my sister's (2nd) daughter, baby C.

This is pretty much how our sessions (I tried twice! I really tried!) went:

But I was able to sneak a few sleepy shots in too. C, you're no match for me! (Well, you have me beat in the cuteness department, I'll give you that.)

My sister-in-law's daughter, baby E, has a double hip dysplasia, and is in a harness for most of the day, so her hips can heal properly. We took her out of it for

her session, but were still super cautious about not putting any stress on her hips. No posing on her belly or doing anything crazy, we want her to grow up healthy and strong! I think she talked to baby C before her session, and took notes on staying awake like a pro. She also finally gave in, but only as long as she was snuggled in a blanket–sounds good to me!

The story behind this one is that Jacob was a little wired from his nap, and just wanted to run around and play. So while dad was wrangling him for the photos, mom was standing there, perfect smile on her face, holding little Owen. I commented on how she was doing a great job at holding her pose while we waited for Jacob to look over, and she broke out with this pose instead. Fresh! I totally love this shot–those of you who know me know how I love the real moments! We also got some good ones for their holiday card, but I don’t want to spoil it for their friends and family, so this is all you’re going to see for now.

She is such a sweetheart! She slept through most of her session, and didn’t make a peep. Here are just a few favorites from our session at her new home with mom & dad.

Dad is over in Afghanistan, he’s coming home at the end of this month, and I know his family is beyond excited to see him. He was able to watch little A being born by the wonder that is Skype! How awesome is that!This last shot is my favorite–something about the smushy sleepy face is just too cute for words. But I can NOT choose between color or black & white–so you get both.

E, thank you so much for a wonderful afternoon–you and your family were so welcoming and gracious. A is just gorgeous, congratulations on the newest addition to your family! I bet her daddy can’t wait to meet her.

B was starting to get a little tuckered out, but we snapped a couple of quick shots with his sister, mom, and grandma. It was so great seeing 4 generations of their family together!

B finally gave in, and passed right out on the couch outside–how I wish my daughter would do that!

We did manage to sneak one last shot in–I think it says it all.

I’ve known M’s dad since high school (maybe even earlier??), and it was great to see him again! He and his wife own an AMAZING pizza/pasta/panini restaurant in East Boston called Dough. You HAVE to go check it out if you’re in the area. They made me a stromboli to bring home, and omg, it was so, SO good. If we lived closer, I’d probably be in daily…and my hips would NOT be happy, haha.

M’s mom took me to a gorgeous park overlooking the city for our session:

I do really miss places like this, living in the suburbs. It was such a treat to come here for a little while.

So, back to Mr. M. Talk about laid-back! He barely made a peep while we were shooting, he was unfazed. And his HAIR, well, it just speaks for itself. Have a look:

It was really great to catch up, and my husband is STILL asking when I’m going to bring him to Eastie to eat at Dough. He’s addicted!

His soft little newborn cry was so precious, quite different from the yells I’m hearing in our house lately.
