Fitting In | Melrose Children’s Photographer

Remember this little one? She’s a big sister now! I recently went back to the home of some of my favorite clients ever, to meet their new little man, and get some photos of him. C is still the same ham she was last year, just with longer hair and more words. She’s a great big sister to new baby B, who is fitting right in with his wonderful family.

I just had to get a few of C too, how could I resist this face??

B was starting to get a little tuckered out, but we snapped a couple of quick shots with his sister, mom, and grandma. It was so great seeing 4 generations of their family together!

B finally gave in, and passed right out on the couch outside–how I wish my daughter would do that!

We did manage to sneak one last shot in–I think it says it all.

W family, it was so great to see you guys, congratulations again on B, he is precious!

Remember this peanut?

Well, she is one now! And still such a laid-back kiddo (well, except for napping…). It just so happened that this year, I was on vacation with my family on Cape Cod the same week they were! We just HAD to schedule L’s one year pics on the beach. Little did we realize that it would be over 90 degrees, 100% humidity, AND no breeze–this never happens on the Cape! L’s mom & dad are saints for coming to meet me under these circumstances.

(Aren’t her dresses the cutest!! Mom is a big fan of Etsy, like I am. She has great taste!)

Happy First Birthday, L! (Who can guess where this last shot was taken? It was most definitely not on the beach. )

I loved this perspective. She’s standing in the couch in the living room, watching some gigantic pine trees be cut down next door. (I don’t normally let her hang out inside by herself, I was only out there for like 5 minutes, and she stood in the window the whole time.)

I did get totally covered in sawdust, which was awesome. Tons of microscopic splinters when I brushed it all off.

We’ve had a bit of an early welcome to summer this year, so I have already broken out the water table a few times. Lila LOVES playing with it, and can be soaked in a matter of seconds.

I will have to post some more from this day once I edit them, because I’m totally in love with her bathing suit, it is SO cute.

I took pictures of Big Brother S way back when he was 9 weeks old, and so when Little Brother J arrived on Valentine’s Day, it was only fitting that we get some shots of him at the same age as well. I gladly swooped in on this chance to hang out with this wonderful family again, and to create some new memories with them.

J was slightly less than impressed with me, and with my camera. Always with the suspicious look on his face, I’m convinced he was just making sure he didn’t have to share his toys with me, in addition to his older brother.

Big Brother, hamming it up:

S wasn’t really up for sitting still this morning, but we still managed to grab a couple of shots of him being “gentle!” with little J.

The next few I LOVE, because they’re not posed. I just had everyone sit on the couch, and watched them interact with each other. I completely love images like this. This is their life, their home, their love. And it’s amazing.

I think it’s safe to say at least one brother warmed up to me by the end of the session. (That’s my knee in the corner of the first one, he was *very* excited about seeing his mug on the back of the camera after I took each shot. It was too cute!)

I get a lump in my throat from this one. Again, not posed at all, they were just waiting for mom to come back with S, who was building me a pyramid on the floor.

And one last one from Mr. Suspicious. This image pretty much sums up his feelings for me…at least for now. I’ll win him over eventually!

Just misbehaving at her grandparents’ house! We were there this past weekend visiting, and had a blast. Lila LOVED all the attention and being able to do things that don’t normally fly at home (like hang out on the stairs to the 2nd floor…).
