Just misbehaving at her grandparents’ house! We were there this past weekend visiting, and had a blast. Lila LOVED all the attention and being able to do things that don’t normally fly at home (like hang out on the stairs to the 2nd floor…).

I’m behind on posting my project, so wanted to get this one, and the next one up asap!
This is my typical kid: being a clown. It’s not ALL drama around here, she’s a total goofball, and loves making us laugh.

Inevitably, we photographers will run into “the difficult session”. The child who wants nothing to do with us, the outdoor family session scheduled during torrential rains, the newborn who only wants to exercise their new lungs instead of sleep. We never let on during these sessions, and just smile and do what we do — because that’s our job. We figure it out, and we push for every shot.
And then you have a session, like this one. Where everything just falls into place, and you wonder why you ever did anything different for work. You walk away encouraged, inspired, and fulfilled.
This family was awesome. M here is about 9 months old–not normally the easiest age for toddlers. He’s not quite standing, not quite walking, but definitely sitting. And grinning. And clapping. Basically, he’s just being the cutest 9 month old ever, as well as the easiest I’ve ever worked with. Tell me you can resist his charms. I dare you.

I think this one is my fave, the look on M’s face cracks me up.

And we ended our session with a few shots of M in this Radio Flyer, he was LOVING it.

A, D, & M, you guys truly made my Sunday. It was so fun hanging out with you, we will definitely have to do this again soon!
I know, I’m still behind.
Here is last week’s photo. I took it on Saturday, when we were at my inlaws’ house for the weekend. This is our daughter with her grandfather. He just LOVES her, and the feeling is mutual. She was such a ham all weekend, and loved seeing her grandparents.

This week’s photo cracked me up the minute I snapped it. I had to act quickly, as she is FAST, but I was able to capture this image of Lila on her plastic play phone. She loves holding it up to her ear anytime I say “hello!” to her. I have a feeling this image is very telling of days to come…

I can’t believe she’ll be one next weekend. SIGH.
I know, I didn’t post last week! It was a crazy week, and we were away for a few days with no internet (I know, can you imagine??). But I’m back now, and need to post last week’s image!
I didn’t shoot much last week, because I was busy preparing for our trip. So this is a quick shot I grabbed of my daughter while we were playing one day. Her head is definitely distorted from the lens (for you non-photogs, she was super close to the lens, so I zoomed way out to fit her in the frame–she’s not normally bobble-headed!), but I still love the way she’s looking at me.
I will have this week’s post up within the next day or two also, because I already have some great images to choose from, taken while we were away this weekend.
I’d say Happy Monday, but you may throw things at me.
Instead, I’ll just keep this short, and post!

I know, you’re probably wondering where I’ve been! Easy answer? Swamped.
Longer answer, I’ve been editing, shopping, wrapping, editing, ordering, delivering, shipping, designing, editing, uploading, and decorating. Did I mention editing?
What a craaazy time of year! But I think I am finally caught up on most things. We are ready for Christmas this week (yay!), and I am mostly caught up on sessions. My husband got me a fabulous gift for Christmas this year (yes, I’m a surprise ruiner, I know what it is), I will post it once I get it.
In the meantime, I just had to share these images from a recent session. This little guy was born two days after our daughter, and is pretty much the opposite of her–mellow, laid-back, and quiet. He was a dream to photograph! Can you believe those blue eyes? Gorgeous.

(LOVE this shot. A little different processing, but I can totally see this on a giant canvas!)

I have a killer post on tap for soon–may not be until after the holidays. SO many awesome images to choose from, and will coincide with a little announcement from me–a new business interest for 2010! I get so excited thinking about it, I have a feeling 2010 is going to be a GREAT year.
You have to love those bright sunshine-filled days in the late fall, where the air is crisp, the sky is saturated in blue, and the leaves are bursting with color. I met little H and his mom at their home in Cambridge last weekend, only a few days before his first birthday, and we totally lucked out with a day just like this. We decided to take full advantage of the gorgeous weather, and headed out to the park near their house to play on the swings and slide.
H is such a happy little boy, he loved watching all the dogs running around, and the little kids playing soccer. He was a little shy about the giant camera attached to my face, but that was nothing that a little game of peek-a-boo behind the slide couldn’t fix.
H is alllmost walking on his own–in fact, he may be by now!
Thank you guys for a such a fun Saturday morning! It was so nice to meet you, H is such a sweetheart.
