I wanted to get a few updates and reminders out there, as fall is typically my busiest season, both professionally and personally. It’s going to be December before I know it!

First up. Now is the time to start thinking about holiday photo sessions and/or holiday cards. I know! It’s crazy. Summer is barely over (actually, these days, it feels like it’s still in full swing, with those scorching temps!), and I’m already talking about the holidays. All photo sessions for holiday cards must be completed by November 15, in order to guarantee your cards in time for the holidays. Not looking for holiday cards? Then book anytime!

Next, a new offering from me: mini-sessions! I know how hectic fall can be, with the kids back in school, sports, activities, family time, everything. And finding time for that family photo can keep moving down the list, until you realize it’s December 1, and you have no idea where fall went. I will be offering mini-sessions in addition to full sessions from now until November 15, to help make things a little easier for you.

Mini-Session Logistics:

- sessions will be 30 minutes in length
- you will receive 9-12 edited images in an online gallery for viewing–galleries will be available for 7 days; rehosting fees will apply beyond this time
- mini-session package will include the session time and EITHER a set of 48 custom-designed holiday cards OR two (2) digital files to create your own holiday cards with; additional cards, prints, files, and other products are all available for purchase
- sessions must take place within 5 miles of zip code 01721 (I am happy to supply location choices if needed)
- price is for up to 5 people; there will be an additional cost of $25 per person above this
- sessions are first-come, first served–please refer to the calendar on my website for available dates

Price: $250

Lastly, holiday cards! You want to see them, I know. I have some new offerings for 2010, and also have the cards I offered last year, found here and here.

The first set are a little different. These are round die-cut cards, that are also ornaments! There is an image below to show you what they would look like as an ornament. I loved these, and think they’re a bit unique. I also have these available as square cards, if you’d like a more traditional look.

Happy (almost) Fall!!

I just couldn’t pass up the chance to do some engagement photos for Sara & her fiance Justin, when we were up at Lake Winnepesauke a few weekends ago. Below are some of my faves from the evening.

Congrats Sass & Justin, I can’t wait for your wedding!! It’s going to be so. much. fun.

For these last images, we “borrowed” this backdrop from a lovely and gracious couple, who let us shoot in front of their amazing home. It was built in the 1700s, and they just finished renovating it–it’s all black, with a gorgeous black and stone garage next to it. I’m hoping they’ll let me shoot there again, we were only here for a few minutes because the sun was almost down at this point. You can see how the light was changing by how different the door looks in each shot.

I can’t WAIT to use this spot for more sessions. Thanks, Cait, for coming with me!! You look fabulous, I can’t wait to meet my new little niece or nephew in a couple of months.

I love this next shot–they were playing some game, and now I can’t remember what it was called! I swear, I laughed the entire day we were together, these girls are so much fun.

Tracy has the BEST eyes, doesn’t she? She was another “oh, I’m so awkward” one…and another one I think I proved totally wrong.

Then we did a quick outfit change, and ran up to the park near these awesome brownstones for a few minutes. It looked like it was about to rain, so we didn’t stay long!


Thanks, girls, for a fun day! I’m having visions of leaf piles and snowmen in our future, so get ready!

I just had to get a few of C too, how could I resist this face??

B was starting to get a little tuckered out, but we snapped a couple of quick shots with his sister, mom, and grandma. It was so great seeing 4 generations of their family together!

B finally gave in, and passed right out on the couch outside–how I wish my daughter would do that!

We did manage to sneak one last shot in–I think it says it all.

W family, it was so great to see you guys, congratulations again on B, he is precious!

We took a short drive out to northwestern Connecticut, to capture Molly & PJ’s day. I’m still not sure how we managed to luck out with the weather–I bet it had something to do with the luck of the Irish. It POURED, and I mean poured, the entire way out to the wedding. It poured, rained, showered, and sprinkled, on and off, right up until the ceremony was about to start.

Then, and only then, did the skies clear. We stole Molly & PJ following the ceremony, and went off to do some outdoor couple portraits of them. We came back, and did the formals portraits with their families and bridal party, and right as the reception was about to begin, the rains started up again. Not kidding. How we managed to time those perfect two hours is beyond me.
