I definitely can’t top last week’s shot…not just yet anyway.
So I’m going for emotion this week. And embracing that grain.
Lila’s yelling at me here, to put her current favorite song/video back on.

June 11, 2010I loved this perspective. She’s standing in the couch in the living room, watching some gigantic pine trees be cut down next door. (I don’t normally let her hang out inside by herself, I was only out there for like 5 minutes, and she stood in the window the whole time.)
I did get totally covered in sawdust, which was awesome. Tons of microscopic splinters when I brushed it all off.

Happy Friday!
Friends & Sisters | Boston Portrait Photographer
June 10, 2010My future sister (in-law, but she is my new sister to me). Marrying my little brother, next month, and I can’t wait! These were all taken in Newport a few weeks ago at her bachelorette–what, did you really think I’d waste the opportunity to get some shots of the day?
The weather was so eerie all morning and afternoon, due to heavy rain and fog. Did that deter us from heading to a local winery? No way!

We got the girls together for some silliness, which was so fun! It’s making me think about offering Friends sessions. I don’t see my closest friends nearly enough, and would love some great photos with them.
We started off all well-behaved…

Which quickly morphed into unprompted antics that resulted in side-splitting laughter.

And yes, they jumped. At a winery. In the rain. Why not?

We went from chilly and foggy to this, our view from dinner:

Seriously, the perfect afternoon/evening. During which, we ran out on a pier to take full advantage.

I was hanging off the edge of the pier here, which is why they were all taken from the same angle. The things I do for a shot!
She’s going to make one gorgeous bride, that’s for sure. (And she’s totally cringing as she reads this! Sorry, L, get ready! T-minus 30 days, woo!!)

June 4, 2010Her first time in a pool.
From last weekend, but it was on Sunday, so it counts for this week! She was a little scared, but was getting used to it by the end of the weekend. I’m sure she’ll be a little waterbug before we know it.

May 27, 2010Being the cheeseball that she is.
I can’t believe how lucky we are to have her.

May 22, 2010Summer has finally arrived around here. Woo!
This image shows something I’ve always said I’d never do: let my kid wear crocs. Well, I am TOTALLY eating my words now. They are completely perfect for running around outside in the summertime: I don’t care if they get wet, or covered in sand, grass, dirt, mulch from the park, etc. And they’re just too cute on her.

May 13, 2010You’re getting a bonus image today.
I couldn’t decide between these two images I took of Lila yesterday at the park. We go to the park pretty much every day lately. It’s within walking distance from our house, and the perfect way to spend time between her nap and dinner.
These were both taken “from the hip”, meaning, I wasn’t looking through the viewfinder. I had the camera down by my side as I walked ahead of Lila, and snapped away as we walked.

May 6, 2010We’ve had a bit of an early welcome to summer this year, so I have already broken out the water table a few times. Lila LOVES playing with it, and can be soaked in a matter of seconds.

I will have to post some more from this day once I edit them, because I’m totally in love with her bathing suit, it is SO cute.
Brothers | Brighton Children’s Photographer
May 4, 2010I took pictures of Big Brother S way back when he was 9 weeks old, and so when Little Brother J arrived on Valentine’s Day, it was only fitting that we get some shots of him at the same age as well. I gladly swooped in on this chance to hang out with this wonderful family again, and to create some new memories with them.
J was slightly less than impressed with me, and with my camera. Always with the suspicious look on his face, I’m convinced he was just making sure he didn’t have to share his toys with me, in addition to his older brother.
Big Brother, hamming it up:

S wasn’t really up for sitting still this morning, but we still managed to grab a couple of shots of him being “gentle!” with little J.

The next few I LOVE, because they’re not posed. I just had everyone sit on the couch, and watched them interact with each other. I completely love images like this. This is their life, their home, their love. And it’s amazing.

I think it’s safe to say at least one brother warmed up to me by the end of the session.
(That’s my knee in the corner of the first one, he was *very* excited about seeing his mug on the back of the camera after I took each shot. It was too cute!)

I get a lump in my throat from this one. Again, not posed at all, they were just waiting for mom to come back with S, who was building me a pyramid on the floor. ![]()

And one last one from Mr. Suspicious. This image pretty much sums up his feelings for me…at least for now. I’ll win him over eventually!

May 3, 2010Just misbehaving at her grandparents’ house! We were there this past weekend visiting, and had a blast. Lila LOVED all the attention and being able to do things that don’t normally fly at home (like hang out on the stairs to the 2nd floor…).
