I LOVE that people come back every year to do new photos. It’s wonderful to catch up with families, and see how the kids have grown. (I also feel like I’ve said this before on here, so forgive me if I sound like a broken record!)

The day of our session was another one of those gloomy days we had so many of last fall – chilly, drizzly, soaking wet ground, and what we call “pea soup light” – flat, gray, and dull. We were determined to make it work for us, and the kids (cousins, I love how close they are!) did a fabulous job! Below are just a few of my favorites.

Many were repeat clients, and were very at ease with me because they already knew me, but even the “first-timers” did a fantastic job being little models for the day. I always love my kids sessions, and leave them wondering how I lucked out by getting into this line of work.

It’s crazy how much of a difference a year makes. Last year at this time, these little cuties were just starting to walk. This year, they were chasing me all over their yard. Last year they didn’t have much to say to me. This year they were chatting with me like we were long lost friends. Last year, it was drizzly and cold–this year was sunny and gorgeous. Perfect weather for a fall photo session with their cousins! Including a new little 6 month old baby girl who was one of the most calm and happy babies I have ever met. I went up to their home in southern NH for the session, it’s always such a beautiful ride.

We had big plans for some outside shots of them running around, playing, and enjoying the late summer weather. Well, wouldn’t you know it, Mother Nature had other plans for us. Saturday arrived with 60 degree weather, torrential rains, and gusty winds. We decided to make the most of it, and just bring the shoot indoors instead! The family was ever so gracious to me, traipsing around their beautiful home, on the search for some pretty light and fun settings.
