I’ve blogged before about our family Disney trips, and wanted to get to this long overdue recap of our 2014 trip. Before we had kids, I never expected to be heading to Disney every year – I thought we’d go once or twice, and now we’re hooked! Disney makes it *so easy* to go on vacation there, they have thought of everything. Our kids love going, and it’s probably my favorite week of the year.
This year we made a last minute decision to leave a day early to avoid yet another giant winter snowstorm that was due to arrive the day before our original departure date. Adding that day to our plans was super easy on the Disney side, and I’m so glad we did it – we would have been stuck here for days if we hadn’t.
At the Wilderness Lodge – we were only here one night, but it was a beautiful resort! We’d totally stay here again.
We were super lucky that our local friends were able to come out and hang with us for a day! Not so lucky that the weather was less than ideal (that was day 3 of rain…), but we had fun nonetheless. These girls are getting SO big, it’s crazy. I love the difference in how they’re dressed – Florida L is dressed warmly in tights & a sweater, and MA L is in flip flops and a sleeveless sundress. 🙂
From the safari in Animal Kingdom. This was really fun, AK was a surprise hit with me this year.
The Grand Floridian at night – this resort is so beautiful.
Our morning view – finally blue skies were in the forecast. We had four straight days of rainy weather, and by that last afternoon, we were all a little over it. So this was a welcome sight!
I love an early morning breakfast reservation at Magic Kingdom, for this reason – no crowds! The perfect time to get some photos in front of the castle – well, with the one who was being cooperative. K wouldn’t stop running around and checking everything out, so we let him, since it was so quiet.
Then back to our resort for some pool time – let’s just pretend I planned our pool time around golden hour, ok? 🙂
I will probably get questions about how we planned this next photo – Disney has totally changed this character meet now, so our experience won’t be helpful I’m afraid. They were still at Epcot for our trip, and we got there super early, to avoid waiting in a 5 hour line. We waited 20 minutes, and they were wonderful.
Typical of these two – K running around being a goofball, and L posing for the camera.
One last day at MK, we finally stayed for the nighttime show, which we haven’t done before because it’s later at night, and the kids are usually done by then. It was crazy crowded, but definitely magical and wonderful!
I kept over 500 photos this trip, so these are just a few highlights I thought I’d share. Feel free to email me if I can help with any Disney related questions, I’m sure I’ll be planning our next trip soon enough. 🙂
