I think everyone here knows this wonderful face by now. She’s been featured on my blog many times, for engagement, wedding, maternity, newborn, and family photos. Just a few, right? This is my cousin Kerri. She doesn’t live as close to me as she once used to, sad to say. When she told me she was coming to Boston this summer and wanted to do some maternity photos, I leapt at the opportunity. The big deal with Kerri is that she is SO great at humoring me. She’s always up for any ideas I have and is a natural in front of the camera. She goes with my clothing recommendations, time of day, and venue options. Basically, she’s an angel to me.
Kerri came here in July, just in time for sunset. We drove over to our local reservoir for her photos. I’ve used this spot many times, and find new inspiration every time I go. I have 3 more sessions from this summer I have yet to blog, all at least partly at the res – and all 4 sessions have unique images. It is one of my favorite spots for photos, as the water and woods hold so many options. Just ignore the unafraid fish (not minnows – actual 4-6″ fish) and my squealing from all of the flying bugs. I never said I was outdoorsy. 🙂
I wasn’t sure what Kerri would say when I asked her to get into the water, but she didn’t even blink. So I did what any good cousin would do, and followed her right in. The guys pulling their boat out of the reservoir thought we were crazy, but I made some of my favorite maternity portraits ever that night. See below for just a few of my favorites.
I’m dying to do this a lot more, so mamas-to-be, contact me if you’re up for a fun water and sunset light-filled session like this! Soon, before the reservoir freezes. 🙂
Great pics as always Meg!!
Ah – so this is what a pregnant wood nymph looks like! Kind of like seeing a unicorn in the forest! Beautiful as always, Meg! Charlene
