I met Maddie and her mom for Maddie’s outdoor senior photos by a local rail trail. I jumped when Maddie mentioned this spot. It was one of those places I always drove by and made a mental note to scout it for photo sessions. It wasn’t until this day that I actually did it though. I drove over there earlier in the day, saw the beauty in person, and knew it would be perfect. YAY for me finally getting over there!
We were both thinking of the same spot on the rail trail to meet. There is a pretty light stone path amidst all of the super shady trees. I knew the light would reflect off the path beautifully. Once we left the rail trail, I took them to a local park where I knew the sunset would be hazy and golden. I have a thing for that kind of light. I’m sure you’re all not at all surprised!
I love working with high school seniors for photos. I feel a TINY bit less “old lady mom” for a hot second. It’s always fun hearing about possible college plans, where they’re looking at applying, how senior year is going, all of it. All of the seniors I have had the pleasure of photographing are so lovely and kind, it gives me great hope that we are raising our kids in this kind of community. Maddie was no different. She humored my many college and school questions, easily chatted while we worked, and calmly took in stride all of my directions during our session. She was a total natural to work with, and before I knew it, the sun was gone. Typical me, using every last second of light.
Below are just a few of my favorites from Maddie’s outdoor senior photos. Maddie, thank you so much for a fun evening!
