Gwen & Kevin

Gwen and Kevin’s wedding took place last fall (I know! So behind!), at a unique location, the Eric Carle Museum in Amherst, MA. Yes, that Eric Carle, who wrote the Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, and countless other children’s books I’ve become very familiar with since having kids. I LOVE photographing weddings at non-traditional venues, so I jumped at the chance to work with them – their amazingly sweet and wonderful personalities also made this a no-brainer. 🙂 Sarah was of course by my side for the day, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Gwen and Kevin planned… Keep reading

Disney

Personal post ahead! And it’s image-heavy. You’ve been warned. 🙂 I don’t post personal things on here often, but thought I’d share some of my favorite images from our recent trip to Disney World. This was our third trip with kids (well, only Lila the first year), and we love how easy Disney makes things. I’ll spare you all of my usual rambling and get right to the photos, but feel free to ask me any questions in the comments section, or email me, I’m happy to share our trip specifics. We did end up at urgent care, with each… Keep reading

Four

I feel so lucky that I’ve been able to see these kiddos grow up over the past five years. You thought I was going to say four years, right? Well, I’m also including the twins’ newborn photos, which I did as one of my very first sessions when I was starting this business. 🙂 2012 marked the fourth session I’ve done with the four of them, and every year, I look forward to seeing them. The kids are getting so big, and so grown up, and I just love getting to talk to them and see what’s new (this year was… Keep reading

Connected

This session was one of my favorites from last year. We actually shot the session the day before Hurricane Sandy was due to come into town. I was hoping the rain would hold off, as it had for my earlier session, but no such luck. Rain and winds welcomed me as I opened my car door and walked/was pushed by the wind down to their home. We did most of their session inside, in their living room and bedrooms, and went outside at the end since the rain had stopped for a few minutes. What draws me to sessions like… Keep reading

Leaf Play

If you’ve been around here for a while, you will surely recognize these faces. I’ve been photographing them for three years now, and I have loved watching them grow up! We met this year up near the Fells (I think that’s what it’s called!), near the Stone Zoo, for some photos. We were hoping and praying that the rain would hold off, and it did – for the most part! It was a little drizzly and gray, but the bright, beautiful, yellow and orange leaves provided us with a great backdrop for their session. Some of my favorites from our… Keep reading

G at the Park

I met little G here at the Boston Public Garden with her parents, way back in October. We weren’t sure what the weather would be doing, and it turned out to be a gorgeous day! I rarely am able to get into the city these days, just with life being busy, so I was so happy to be able to do this. G was so sweet and silly during our session, we loved watching her take in all of her surroundings. The Public Garden sure makes for some fabulous people (and squirrel!) watching! Below are just a few of my… Keep reading

The H Family

Ok, time to get blogging all of my fall sessions! I’m starting with one of my favorites from last year – I kind of wanted to move in with this family. The kids were absolutely wonderful, and I just loved mom & dad. I met them at their home to start, and then we headed out to their neighbor’s nearby horse farm (!!!) for photos. I had NO idea places like this existed near me, and I am now plotting to move my family and our local “crew” to a couple of towns over. It was such a beautiful area,… Keep reading

2012 Favorites: Personal

I try to share personal images every so often on here, but I tend to get backlogged in editing personal photos when I have a lot of client work – particularly during my busy season (Sept-Nov). Most of these images are of my kids (shocking), but I did want to make sure to include some of my non-kid favorites too! Getting out and shooting just for me is something I LOVE doing…even if my kids aren’t quite so fond of it. They’ll come around! I hope. Just a few (ha!) of my favorite personal images of 2012…

2012 Favorites: Weddings

Weddings! I love photographing weddings. Yes, they’re a TON of work (more than you’re even thinking). The hours are long, things change from minute to minute, and you are in charge of something pretty darn important – capturing once in a lifetime moments for two people who are entrusting you to tell their story. Accurately, beautifully, and gracefully. It’s SO worth it. I might be that photographer who gets a little tear right before one of “my” brides walks down the aisle. Who is wiping “dust” from her eyes during the toasts, helping with the bustle, wrangling groomsmen who are… Keep reading

2012 Favorites: Kids

These kids. They make my job so incredibly fun. I don’t have much new to add that I haven’t already said yesterday, so I’ll keep this short. My little clients here are such a source of inspiration and joy for me – their laughter, their silly stories, and yes, even their grumpies that come around when they’ve had enough. They smear my lenses with sticky fingers, carefully hold leaves in their pockets for me, and love going on secret missions with me. They’re just awesome, plain and simple.
