I totally forgot to post my weekly image last week! I took this last week, so it does count–we’ll just forget that I’m late in posting it, ok. 🙂 This is a look I imagine I’ll be seeing a LOT of in the years to come. Typical PCS (Photographer’s Child Syndrome), combined with “moooommm, are you kidding me?!”–I can’t wait.

10 | 52 No, no, no
I’m cutting this one close! The little one has been sick all week, but she’s finally on the mend. This was taken at the nearby park last weekend, and she was walking around with dad. She LOVES the park, and since we can see it out our front window, she’ll stand on the couch throughout the day, and point over to the swings, yelling “DAH! DAH!” (she says “dah” for a lot of things). This week’s image is a little proof that our daughter is quite the drama queen. She’s not the easiest baby, or the most laid back, by ANY means. Good thing she’s too cute for words. 😉 We were outside yesterday enjoying the warm-ish temps (I think it was in the 40s–so TOTALLY going outside weather!), and Lila realized that she didn’t know what a lot of things were out there. This one. This little smiling, impish, playful one below? She turns one year old tomorrow. A YEAR. I just can’t believe we’re already here. All day long, I’ve been saying to her, “last year at this time, I was…”. It’s been such an emotionally filled day. It’s so wild to think that at last year right now, we didn’t know who we were about to meet. Who was about to steal our hearts, and bring us incredible happiness. DeAna and Philippe two were brave, brave souls to meet up with me outside in February. I think the temperature I saw on a billboard on my way into the city this cold Saturday morning said 25 degrees, without the windchill. Oh yes, you read that right! This week’s photo cracked me up the minute I snapped it. I had to act quickly, as she is FAST, but I was able to capture this image of Lila on her plastic play phone. She loves holding it up to her ear anytime I say “hello!” to her. I have a feeling this image is very telling of days to come… I can’t believe she’ll be one next weekend. SIGH.

We were away last weekend, visiting family in VA. Oh, yes, you read that right. We flew into the biggest storm the DC/VA/MD area HAS EVER SEEN. We were staying in Northern VA with my husband’s mother & step-father, and they got 28″ of snow over the weekend. Over TWO FEET. We weren’t sure we would make it out in time for our flight home–I’m still not quite sure how we did it. When I first started doing this project, I wasn’t sure how personal I would end up making it. I didn’t know how much of me I wanted “out there”. But I’m finding as I shoot every week, I NEED this to be personal. I shoot from the heart. I love capturing moments, emotions, those little pieces of time that are gone before you even realize they were there. This week’s photo is one of my all-time favorites.
