Improvising | MA Children’s Photographer

I met up with this adorable family at their home in New Hampshire a couple of weekends ago, for a shoot with 15 month old twins, and their almost-2-year-old cousin. We had big plans for some outside shots of them running around, playing, and enjoying the late summer weather. Well, wouldn’t you know it, Mother Nature had other plans for us. Saturday arrived with 60 degree weather, torrential rains, and gusty winds. We decided to make the most of it, and just bring the shoot indoors instead! The family was ever so gracious to me, traipsing around their beautiful home,… Keep reading

Inspired

I am hereby admitting to being a blog stalker. I am obsessed with scouring the internets, looking at other photographer’s blogs. I get so inspired seeing what others are up to, and I feel challenged to better myself. I have SO much left to learn about photography, and am constantly floored by the incredible talent out there. Which brings me to the reason for this post. I came across these incredible photographers in Connecticut, Justin & Mary Marantz. Their images blew. me. away. The clarity, interesting compositions, and their general FUN attitudes that come across in their posts, all just… Keep reading

Fun at the Park | Amherst Children’s Photographer

I caught up with one of my college roommates last weekend in Amherst, for a fun playdate at the park. It’s always fun going “back to college”, we had some great times there! It’s so beautiful out there this time of year. Four year old E has SO much energy, she bounced and ran all over the playground. And little J just turned one earlier this month! He is growing up so fast, I can’t believe it’s already been a year. I just HAD to include this last one, she is her mother’s daughter, 10000%! A, could she look any… Keep reading

The Last Days of Summer | Ashland Childrens’ Photographer

I met up with these adorable girls last week, to go for a fun nature walk in the woods around here. The little girl on the right is the cousin of the other two, visiting from California. They had so much fun running around the trails, climbing giant rocks, and exploring in these woods. The mosquitoes were out in full force though, so we didn’t stay too long–gotta love late summer in New England! I think this next shot is my favorite–I love how real it is. I almost didn’t edit this, and I’m so glad I did! It was… Keep reading

Busy Bee |MA Childrens’ Photographer|

Wow, where did the summer go?? It’s September already?? I can’t even believe it. I’m sure you’re all wondering where I ran off to these past couple of weeks. It has been a whirlwind! Lots of traveling to see family, friends, and lots of shooting–my fave. Here is a little glimpse at all of the fun I’ve been having! This first little one may look familiar to those of you who are fans of MJP on Facebook. Met up with these adorable boys in VA while visiting the in-laws. Their mom is a good friend of mine, and an amazing… Keep reading

That Golden Light

I recently took a trip up to Beverly for a session with this wonderful family. It was a combo family/kids/maternity session, and so much fun! Our session was during what us photographers like to refer to as “the magic hour”–as in, the hour or two just before sunset, when everything is covered in this honey colored evening light. I LOVE shooting during this time, and highly recommend it for all of my clients! The soft, diffused light at this time of day is something I like to take full advantage of–we have even less of it up here in New… Keep reading

8 Days New

Some of you may remember this newborn session from a couple of weeks ago, if you are a fan of MJP on the Facebook page. Baby L was only 8 days old when I photographed her, and she was the sweetest little thing. She slept for most of our session, and barely made a peep! Here are a few of my favorites from the day, including some never-before-seen shots!
