2013 Favorites: The Kids

These little faces, they are a huge reason why I love my job. Their personalities, our conversations; they’re amazing and wonderful. I will usually try to bring a couple of my kids’ smaller toys along as an ice breaker – so you may see bits and pieces of princesses or trains peeking around the frame. 🙂 These sessions usually involve a lot of running around, singing silly songs, and making up stories – and a lot of laughter. It was incredibly hard to narrow these images down! Below are some of my favorite images of your children from 2013.

Sisters

Meeting this beautiful family was one of the highlights of my year so far. I love when I meet new people, and we just click easily. This family is just continuing my streak of amazing clients – I seriously have to pinch myself sometimes, because you guys are all so wonderful. So thank you for that! 🙂 Mom picked out the cutest outfits for the girls, I wanted to run right out and buy them. This session was primarily for big sister A (little E is getting her own session in October), and I had the best time hanging out… Keep reading

Braving It

I wanted to share this next session I did while there was still some snow on the ground. Ok, a lot of snow. But we didn’t really want to show the snow. D wanted to have some updated headshots done (you can see her last set of headshots I did a couple of years ago here – time flies, sheesh!), so we worked around the snow. D was seriously such a superstar – it was BARELY 30 degrees out, and the wind was blowing pretty nicely that day. And yet…well, you’ll see. She’s awesome. She’s going places – and I… Keep reading

Rory | One

This little man (you can see his newborn photos here, and six month photos here) is another one of my Year One clients. I can not tell you how much I LOVE watching these little babies grow over that first year. It is such a privilege for me to be able to capture milestones for my clients, and being there during their baby’s first year is amazing. Every visit is full of questions, me asking what they’re doing, saying, if they’re walking, how they’re napping. Babies change SO much during that first year, and I couldn’t be any more honored… Keep reading

Four

I feel so lucky that I’ve been able to see these kiddos grow up over the past five years. You thought I was going to say four years, right? Well, I’m also including the twins’ newborn photos, which I did as one of my very first sessions when I was starting this business. 🙂 2012 marked the fourth session I’ve done with the four of them, and every year, I look forward to seeing them. The kids are getting so big, and so grown up, and I just love getting to talk to them and see what’s new (this year was… Keep reading

Connected

This session was one of my favorites from last year. We actually shot the session the day before Hurricane Sandy was due to come into town. I was hoping the rain would hold off, as it had for my earlier session, but no such luck. Rain and winds welcomed me as I opened my car door and walked/was pushed by the wind down to their home. We did most of their session inside, in their living room and bedrooms, and went outside at the end since the rain had stopped for a few minutes. What draws me to sessions like… Keep reading

Leaf Play

If you’ve been around here for a while, you will surely recognize these faces. I’ve been photographing them for three years now, and I have loved watching them grow up! We met this year up near the Fells (I think that’s what it’s called!), near the Stone Zoo, for some photos. We were hoping and praying that the rain would hold off, and it did – for the most part! It was a little drizzly and gray, but the bright, beautiful, yellow and orange leaves provided us with a great backdrop for their session. Some of my favorites from our… Keep reading

G at the Park

I met little G here at the Boston Public Garden with her parents, way back in October. We weren’t sure what the weather would be doing, and it turned out to be a gorgeous day! I rarely am able to get into the city these days, just with life being busy, so I was so happy to be able to do this. G was so sweet and silly during our session, we loved watching her take in all of her surroundings. The Public Garden sure makes for some fabulous people (and squirrel!) watching! Below are just a few of my… Keep reading

The H Family

Ok, time to get blogging all of my fall sessions! I’m starting with one of my favorites from last year – I kind of wanted to move in with this family. The kids were absolutely wonderful, and I just loved mom & dad. I met them at their home to start, and then we headed out to their neighbor’s nearby horse farm (!!!) for photos. I had NO idea places like this existed near me, and I am now plotting to move my family and our local “crew” to a couple of towns over. It was such a beautiful area,… Keep reading

2012 Favorites: Kids

These kids. They make my job so incredibly fun. I don’t have much new to add that I haven’t already said yesterday, so I’ll keep this short. My little clients here are such a source of inspiration and joy for me – their laughter, their silly stories, and yes, even their grumpies that come around when they’ve had enough. They smear my lenses with sticky fingers, carefully hold leaves in their pockets for me, and love going on secret missions with me. They’re just awesome, plain and simple.
