Five

Oh, Lila. You’re five today. FIVE. How is that possible?? It feels like just yesterday that I was an all-knowing soon-to-be mom who eschewed the thoughts that my house would someday be overrun with brightly colored plastic and tape adhesive all over my walls from your art projects. Yet, here we are. I haven’t given in to the minivan yet (well, we did once, but that’s another blog post altogether!), but I’ve let you overtake my once reasonably well-styled living room with your Barbie Dream House and princess dresses. With your countless papers with the names of our family members… Keep reading

On Trust

Sometimes being an artist can be a little frightening – if I dare even call myself an artist. There is a tremendous amount of self-doubt, criticism, and insecurity that comes into play when your business relies primarily on your vision. Putting yourself out there and saying “I love this, and I hope you do too” is slightly nerve-wracking! I’m sure many of my fellow photographers can also attest to the fact that our social media feeds look really pretty – we have amazing and talented friends and peers, who are constantly creating and being inspiring. It’s easy to get caught… Keep reading

Fall Sessions

The summer has flown by, and it is almost…gulp…September! My favorite time of year…but I am trying my hardest not to rush the end of summer. I am getting so excited for the leaves to change, that brisk feel in the air, hay rides, apple picking (and cider doughnuts, of course!). It seems that many of you are also, judging from my fall calendar – and I can’t wait to see all of your beautiful faces! I wanted to post a couple of notes about fall sessions, to help provide more information to those of you who may have questions…. Keep reading

Meaghan

I’ve know Meaghan here for a couple of years now. I met her and her mom back when Meag was in need of some headshots. I’ve been fortunate to see her again a few times for updated photos, and I have also done her brother’s senior photos. So I couldn’t have been happier when they got in touch for Meaghan’s senior photos. I still can’t believe she’s already graduating, I feel like time has flown by. And I know her wonderful mom feels the same! These two are a perfect example of how lucky I am in that I have… Keep reading

Happy Everything

I can’t believe it’s already been 7 weeks since Kellan’s arrival (and since my last blog post!). Time sure has flown! I just wanted to say thank you to you all for a wonderful 2011. Without sounding too cliche, I am so grateful every day for having what I think is the best job in the world, and it’s because of you all. Your support and faith in me keep me inspired and loving what I do. I will be blogging all of the sessions from this past fall soon, and I am booking sessions for 2012 now! I’m also… Keep reading

Availability Update!

UPDATED (9/16/11): Due to many requests, I have opened up a couple of additional dates for sessions. Please see below for new available dates! 10/2: afternoon/evening only 10/8: afternoon/evening only 10/9: all day afternoon/evening only Please note: if you have recently inquired about a session, I would recommend confirming a date and time ASAP. There are currently many more inquiries “out there” than there are available spots, and I am booking dates on a first come, first served basis. A session is confirmed only when I have the signed contract and session fee in hand. Thanks for your understanding! ***********************************************************************************************************************************************… Keep reading

Lisa & Jim | Cape Cod Weddings

I posted Lisa & Jim’s sneak peek last month (see it here) – here is more from their gorgeous day at the Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich, MA on Cape Cod. The wonderful and talented Sarah Phillips was my partner in crime as usual – it’s always so fun working with her! Lisa & Jim, your wedding day was simply wonderful, thank you for letting me be a part of it!

Giveaway Winner!

Remember this post? Well I have a winner! Yay! I wish I could have had everyone win. Even if you didn’t win, I would *highly* recommend stopping by and at least checking out a trial, to see how awesome it is first-hand. Melissa F, you are the winner of the ClickinMoms Lifetime Membership! I’ll email you shortly with more info. 🙂 Congratulations! And because I can’t post without any photos, I leave you with a few recent shots of Lila splashing in the puddles near our house. She picked out her outfit (with the help of my husband).

Resurfacing (and a Giveaway!)

I’m still here! I know, I’ve all but disappeared lately. I have good reason though! I haven’t had all that much free time lately, between doing the mom thing and my sessions, so the blog unfortunately took a back seat for a little while. I’m making a big effort to get back here again, so you’ll definitely be seeing more of me in the near future. I have updates! I’m sure lots of you know at least some of them, but you’ll want to read to the end, because I’m giving away something pretty awesome to a lucky photography-enthusiast reader…. Keep reading

2010 Favorites | 52 Weeks (personal project)

In 2010 I decided to do a personal photography project in addition to my client work. I chose a rather easy subject (our daughter Lila), but decided to do the whole thing in black & white only. I’ve learned a lot from this project, and I love it! This may sound weird, but I now look for photo compositions that I think will specifically work best in black & white–not just for this project, but in all of my work. Below are just some of my favorites from my project this year. Have a wonderful 2011, Happy New Year!!
