We go to MyGym every week year round, but it is especially loved in the winter time, when the park swings are covered in snow and ice, and there are only narrow walkways to run around on, surrounded by piles and piles of dirty snow. January was a tough month, because of the weekly middle-of-the-week storms, and we kept missing class. Talk about stir-crazy! These are Lila’s girls. You’ve seen them before, you will see them more in the coming weeks, I’m sure. We met them at the gym, and now HAVE to see them at least weekly, if not… Keep reading

5|52 Snowed In Forever
I knew the first part of this project was going to be challenging, since we were starting in the wintertime–we’re not out as much now as we are once it gets nicer out. We’re out even less lately, because we’ve been buried with over 70 inches of snow this winter so far. Seventy. Inches. And it’s only February 5th. Average snowfall for the *entire* winter here is around 42 inches. We could get snow into April, so there’s no telling when it will end! I’ve been tracking the snow on this hilarious and wonderful Shaq-o-meter. 🙂 As a result, we… Keep reading
4|52: A Little Attitude
Just a small glimpse at the attitude I get from a certain almost-two year old little girl. Taken at playgroup this week, probably the only time we’ll be able to go out, seeing as we’re getting more snow again tonight! Counting the days until spring… 🙂
3|52: Cooperation
Today’s shot doesn’t say much about us being “out and about”, but we were. We ran over to a nearby park (not the closest one, but a prettier one), because this weather is making my project a little tough! Lila doesn’t really like the snow–she likes talking about it, and likes looking at it, but she thinks it’s “messy messy!” when it gets on her, and wants to go inside. She also doesn’t really like her boots that much, they’re heavy and clunky, and she’d rather be barefoot (my little hippie daughter, I love it). We keep getting snowstorms on… Keep reading

As the old saying goes, there’s a first time for everything. This week’s photo is a “first” for Lila. I’m letting you all in on a (not so) little secret here–I’m a little OCD. I don’t like messes, I don’t like getting dirty, I am just a touch “Monica Geller”. Lila rarely has access to truly messy stuff: paints, play-doh, moon sand, regular sand, glitter, all things that make me twitch and have nightmares. Thankfully, I (we) have fabulous friends who not only know this, but are MORE than helpful in assisting me getting over myself. I love them. So… Keep reading

(Note: This post is late, and I did sneak in and back-date the 2 posts before this that I never got around to posting over the holidays. 🙂 Please see here and here if you’d like to look at those week’s shots!) Now… I did it!! WOO!! I stuck with this all year, and DID IT. I’m so proud of myself. 🙂 This last image for my 2010 personal project personifies my kiddo. Crazy, hilarious, and always fun to be around. I took her to Disney Princesses on Ice with friends a few days after Christmas, and she LOVED it…. Keep reading
1|52: Out and About
I’m back! Sorry to leave you hanging there, I had a little computer issue to resolve, and it took longer than expected. But I’m back online again! I promised I’d announce my personal project for 2011, so here goes. 🙂 As I was pulling my favorite images from last year’s project, I noticed an ongoing theme: a lot of the images were taken at home. In the living room, on the couch, in the yard. Now, I LOVE being home. I’m a homebody. I could entertain myself for hours with little projects around the house. But now that I have… Keep reading
Love and Joy
I just wanted to pop in quickly and say Happy Holidays to everyone! 2010 was an incredible year for me, personally and professionally. I have a few fun posts in store for next week to wrap up the year, so stay tuned! Before I run off to finish our preparations for Christmas Eve (LOVE hosting a holiday! I feel like such a grown-up!), I wanted to share these images. On the left is one of the 3 holiday cards we sent out this year–if you look closely, you can see the glitter I added to them. 🙂 I did all… Keep reading

I almost didn’t use this image. I don’t like my creepy “mean stare” at all. But I realize that I have little to no photos of Lila and I in them, AND I wanted to remember this moment. So you’ ll have to deal with my crazy eyes. 🙂 I took this image to remember part of our little routine. I know it’s going to change many times over, but this is one of my favorite parts of our day. Lila wakes up from her nap a bit cranky and demanding. Milk, Mickey Mouse, sit here, mama, it’s sunny, snack… Keep reading

Shhh, I’m sneaking in (it’s Jan 2011!) to finish posting these. 🙂 I took them all on time, but the chaos of the holidays just kept me from getting around to editing and posting them. I have to finish this project officially though! For this week, I took this at our weekly playgroup, and I love how happy Lila is. She loves her friends, and their moms, and I think it’s so wonderful. We’re both incredibly lucky to have such a great group, I know they sure keep my sanity in check.
