Gwen & Kevin

Gwen and Kevin’s wedding took place last fall (I know! So behind!), at a unique location, the Eric Carle Museum in Amherst, MA. Yes, that Eric Carle, who wrote the Hungry Caterpillar, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, and countless other children’s books I’ve become very familiar with since having kids. I LOVE photographing weddings at non-traditional venues, so I jumped at the chance to work with them – their amazingly sweet and wonderful personalities also made this a no-brainer. 🙂 Sarah was of course by my side for the day, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Gwen and Kevin planned… Keep reading

2012 Favorites: Weddings

Weddings! I love photographing weddings. Yes, they’re a TON of work (more than you’re even thinking). The hours are long, things change from minute to minute, and you are in charge of something pretty darn important – capturing once in a lifetime moments for two people who are entrusting you to tell their story. Accurately, beautifully, and gracefully. It’s SO worth it. I might be that photographer who gets a little tear right before one of “my” brides walks down the aisle. Who is wiping “dust” from her eyes during the toasts, helping with the bustle, wrangling groomsmen who are… Keep reading

Allison and Scott

Allison & Scott were married on their family farm in Harvard, MA, in September. When I met them last winter to talk about their wedding, I knew this was going to be a great wedding. Usually my client meetings are maybe an hour – we stayed chatting for about two hours! I left our meeting pretty excited at some of the details we’d talked about – I knew this was going to be a beautiful wedding. And I was right! Every time I turned around, I saw another great detail that fit in with their day and their personalities so… Keep reading

Joni and Brian

Joni contacted me last fall about photographing her & Brian’s wedding. The minute she told me it was going to be in Amherst, MA, I was in. I went to college in Amherst, and LOVE any chance to go back and visit the area. And Amherst in June, when their wedding was? Gorgeous. I was beyond thrilled when they told me they wanted me to do the wedding – more like ecstatic. Joni & Brian were married at The Red Barn at Hampshire College, under a gorgeous tree outside in the beautiful Western MA air (I promise you, the air… Keep reading

Alyssa & Tommy

Alyssa and Tommy were married in June at Mass MoCA – the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. I was thrilled when they asked me to be their wedding photographer, and getting to shoot at such a unique location was just icing on the cake! Mass MoCA is way out in Western Mass in the Berkshires, near where I grew up. (Bonus: seeing friends and family while traveling for work! Yay!) The museum is full of interesting contemporary art exhibits – Alyssa and Tommy were married in front of the Invisible Cities exhibit, and we did some post-ceremony photos in the… Keep reading

2011 Favorites | Weddings

Weddings are a new love of mine. Many of you have heard me say before that I’d never photograph them. Aside from the obvious pressure of making sure you accurately and artistically capture such an important day in peoples’ lives – one you can’t really ask for a reshoot for at that – with the amount of time involved in each wedding (before, during and after, not just that day), you have to love it to keep doi ng it. And that I do. They’re inspiring, exciting, and so FUN. I mean, we all love a good wedding, right? I… Keep reading

Leah & Jaeson | Vermont Wedding Photographer

Leah & Jaeson were married in September in a small town in Vermont (I posted their sneak peek here). The sculpture garden where they had the ceremony and reception was quintessential Vermont – rustic, elegant and peaceful. The day couldn’t have been more beautiful, the light was perfect. Their photos have become some of my very favorite that I’ve ever taken – for that reason, I have been putting off posting their wedding. Selfish, I know. But also artist insecurity. Every time I share photos from a session, I get nervous – these aren’t facts and numbers here, they’re someone’s… Keep reading

Lisa & Jim | Cape Cod Weddings

I posted Lisa & Jim’s sneak peek last month (see it here) – here is more from their gorgeous day at the Heritage Museums and Gardens in Sandwich, MA on Cape Cod. The wonderful and talented Sarah Phillips was my partner in crime as usual – it’s always so fun working with her! Lisa & Jim, your wedding day was simply wonderful, thank you for letting me be a part of it!
