This is sort of a double blog post – lots of photos. I’m combining this beautiful family’s maternity and newborn sessions here, because I didn’t realize I never blogged their maternity session! (I don’t think I did – hopefully I’m not repeating myself!) We met up last fall for a maternity session, I’m now dreaming while remembering the beautiful weather that day. We took a little walk on the land behind their home for their session. I love being able to do maternity sessions for my newborn clients, especially when they have older siblings – it gives us all a chance to get to know each other a little more, and develop some trust.
Mom got in touch with me in January with the news that they now had TWO little girls in their household – yay! The weather was a little different this trip though…it was a blistery -20 (yes, negative!) out that morning! It was soooo COLD. Perhaps it’s because I’m not-so-patiently waiting for spring that the temperature that day sticks out in my mind so vividly.
Their newest addition, little miss Elle, was just as sweet as she could be during her newborn session. It’s so obvious in the images how amazing her older sibling is taking on her new role as big sister. The book images on the ottoman weren’t posed or planned – that was all her idea. Seeing them bond like this was special and brought a little tear to my eye because of how close I am with my own sister.
Below are some session favorites. Even their adorable boxer Porter joined in on the fun for a little bit. Elle was so comfy towards the end of our session she fell asleep, so I just let her nap on me while her mom and I chatted – swoon. Seriously, I have the best clients.
Thank you so much, R family, for having me over! It was just wonderful meeting all of you, I hope we catch up again this year. 🙂
Awe…I love the big sister / little sister photos…super cute!
