Fall has arrived! As have my fall photo sessions. Inquiries are flying in these days, and I’d say my fall season (including holiday card sessions) is about half booked at this time. I also suspect due to the super dry summer, leaves will begin to turn even earlier than predicted this year, if at all. If you’re thinking about a session with me, I recommend reaching out soon.
My oldest started second grade this week. Time is the worst, right?? Kids grow up so fast! With school starting back up comes my busy season of fall family photos and holiday card photos. It’s my favorite time of year! I’m not just saying that either. I love the chaos of school events, sports, work, leaves turning, Halloween, birthdays GALORE, Christmas, all of it. It’s the best. Last September, we moved the same week school started, and I think I’ve blacked out most of last fall as a result. I never blogged any of my fall photo sessions (or anything else, for that matter!). So now that fall is here *again*, I’m going to blog them all now. Sound ok?
I’m starting with this favorite fall photo session from last year – my sister’s family. I typically love a sunny afternoon for photos, and the morning was perfect. I watched the sky cloud over with dismay, and begrudgingly decided to go ahead with photos anyway. It turns out, the cloud cover was perfect for their session! It really made the beautiful foliage stand out, and the warm colors of the hills we were in were well contrasted with their rich fall color outfits. Such an unexpected blessing, and a lesson to me to be more flexible in my light preferences for sessions. 🙂 This location has become one of my new favorite places, for work and for nature walks with my kids.
