At home newborn sessions are my jam. Well, they kind of have to be, since that is the only way I do them! I met this family (who are THE nicest and loveliest people) a few years ago when their first baby boy was born. When mom contacted me to come meet their newest addition, a little brother for W, I was thrilled. I went back to their home in the city for baby J’s at home newborn session photos. Lucky me, J was also a summer baby so we were able to go outside for a few since it was a beautiful warm summer day.
After a few family photos inside, we went outside to play for a bit. It was fun to be in more of a city atmosphere, for a change of pace! I do miss city living sometimes, and this was one of them. There is always just so much going on, so many places to go and things to do, and all within walking distance.
After our trip outside, we headed back in to finish up some solo photos of baby J, and more family photos. It was lunchtime at this point, which was perfect for W to have a break. I like to make sure to get all of the sibling photos I’m looking for early on in my sessions. This way, the older kids can finish their “job” and go play. Although sometimes they’ll stick around and help me, which is fun for me! Conversations with kids are always entertaining, right? If you look closely at the family shots on mom & dad’s bed, you’ll see some of W’s newborn photos! Love.
