I don’t get to travel back to where I grew up very often. When I do, I LOVE when life-long friends ask for photos while I’m home. There is just nothing like a little hometown photo session to make me appreciate the beautiful area I grew up in! I didn’t explore nearly as much as I should have, so I am trying to make up for lost time with every trip back. The Berkshires are serene and breathtaking and – I swear by this – the air is just different out there. It really is. I always roll the windows down in the car as we pull into town, and just inhale. It’s magical. I don’t know if there is extra oxygen because of the mountains all around or what, but I’m here for it.
An old friend (ok, my sister’s life-long BFF) got in touch to see if we would be able to coordinate our trips back. Her parents came for the first part of our session, and it was so so great to see them! We picked a local conservation area for our session, a place I probably hadn’t visited since high school. The kids had a blast running around checking out the trails we quickly recalled from memories past. As the sun set and everything took on that amazing golden color I love so much, I took another look around and smiled. Days like this are exactly why I got into photography. Insane light, catching up with old friends and making new memories for them to have forever. I am so incredibly lucky that I get to do this.
Below are just a few of my favorites from our hometown photo session. A, thank you SO MUCH for meeting up! I’m so glad we were able to do it!
