Paula & Chris are getting married later on this year, so we met up last summer for their engagement photo session. We had been going back and forth all day, as there were storms rolling through – you know exactly the kind I’m talking about. Afternoon summer thunderstorms, so typical for New England. Fast moving, but torrential and slightly terrifying to watch come through. The day was beyond hot and muggy, like breathing through a wet towel. The sky was looking ominous off in the distance, and the radar couldn’t keep up. Since they were driving to meet me from Reading, I didn’t want them to have to come all the way here just to have the skies open up. So we texted during the day, and finally made the call to go for it. I knew that the light immediately following a summer thunderstorm was a dream, so storm or no storm, we’d make it work.
Our session WAS super humid and sweaty, and Paula and Chris didn’t even blink. And they were the ones in jeans and long-sleeves! I made them come to about four different spots…I was totally taking advantage of a kid-less session. I can usually convince kids to go to about two locations, and then I start getting evil side-eyes. So we traveled to a few favorite spots and chased the sunset, and I loved every second. Their wedding in May is going to be amazing! Thanks for putting up with me Paula and Chris, you guys are the best! Some of my faves are below.
