More from my fall photo session archives. 🙂 I met up with this adorable family at one of my favorite spots for their session. Our local reservoir gives me both water and woodsy options, so I love taking clients there for the variety. This location can be slightly temperamental; light plays a large role here. But we lucked out this afternoon, and had stellar backlight through the trees for our time. Hazy sunshine makes me so very happy! The sun sets on the early side here, as we’re in a little valley surrounded by hills and trees, so I have to remember to not go by regular sunset time when picking a starting time for sessions at this spot. If I’m doing a session with multiple locations, I’ll start here, and move on to other locations after.
This year the lovely W family also brought their family dog along for a few shots. We knew this was a pet-friendly area ahead of time. I always check beforehand though, some locations don’t allow animals. We went for a short walk through the trees towards a small fishing spot, so the boys could toss some rocks into the reservoir. I also always love giving little kids something to do during their session, it relaxes them and doesn’t feel like so much “work” to them. Who doesn’t love trying to skip rocks?! The boys also had fun balancing on the rocks, and jumping off some of the little logs that had fallen in the woods. And I couldn’t stop complimenting their outfits – everything just works so well together! Coordinating neutrals with a couple of pops of color really work well in this golden and woodsy location.
W family, it was so great catching up and seeing you again! Thanks for traveling up here to meet me. Below are just a few of my favorites from their fall photo session.
